SUSTAINABLE WASTE MANAGEMENT

Iconic Kiwi band Crowded House have announced that they will tour New Zealand in March 2021 on their “To the Island” tour – news wholeheartedly embraced by the whole country. Due to the overwhelming demand for tickets, a second and final show at Church Road Winery in Napier had been announced.

The challenging nature of the pandemic meant that the event had postponements and changes to the event which Closed Loop embraced and stood up to the challenge. The first night saw 8,000 people through the gates and the second night 6,000. The team cleaned the site, hand sorted the waste, cleaned the site and surrounding streets, serviced the bathrooms and maintained the venue over the week of the event.

Closed Loop collected and hand sorting 39.25m3 of waste into 9 different waste streams achieving a landfill diversion of 88.5%.
